Meet Cross and Crown’s Teachers & Staff

Our staff members are all caring, compassionate, Christian individuals. They are dedicated to developing your child’s optimum potential, and yet are trained to be sensitive to individual needs. Elementary teachers are credentialed California graduates, while our preschool, TK, and Jr. Kindergarten teachers all meet the California State educational requirements for teaching at the preschool level.

Cross and Crown’s teachers are passionate to live as disciples of Jesus Christ and to pass that passion on to their students. This commitment to our Lord builds one of the strongest assets we possess at Cross and Crown…the devotion of our staff. Because of this, there is very little turn over. Most of our teachers have remained at CCLS for one or more decades. They are passionate to help our students explore the world around us, and The One who created it; utilizing a curriculum strong in academics and integrated with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Personal Information:am the mother of four, having had three of my children attend Cross and Crown, and the grandmother of seven, with four of my grandchildren currently enrolled in the elementary program. I am a member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council and singing with the Contemporary Worship Team.

Reflection: Since the age of ten, I have wanted to become a teacher and work in the Lutheran School system. All of my educational decisions were made with that goal in mind. I have always enjoyed the challenge teaching brings, no matter what the age level of the students. Today I am excited with the opportunity to help build a firm foundation for our school, and view my role as administrator as a gift from the Lord, that He put me here to meet the need.

Experience: I owned and operated a home childcare center for many years. I continue to take classes, attend conferences, and seminars. At every event, I learn new ideas that bring new classroom experiences for the children and me.

Personal Information: I am married to Brian, and we have two grown children, Kelsey and Jack, as well as a dog, named Molly. In 2019, we added to our family with my daughter getting a puppy named Scout, and my son and daughter-in-law having our first grandchild named Lauren. In my spare time, I plan on creating wonderful memories with my family. Hopefully, I will still find some quiet time and time to read.

Reflection: As a teacher I believe that each child who enters my classroom is an individual. It is my job to create an environment that will help that child expand his/her world. Assessing the individual and global needs of the children in the classroom takes me to the next step--developing an environment. As I reflect on teaching and my professional growth, I am drawn to the personal side of my life. I need to take time to read a book, or just sit outside in nature in order to recharge my batteries. My philosophy is to reset the personal side of my life so that I can be the best I can be in my teaching environment and in my professional growth.

Office Administrator/Preschool Teacher:

Mrs. Jodi Crumbley

Years of Experience: Over 18 years/3 years

Years at Cross and Crown: 3 years

Education: Associate Teaching Certificate, Santa Rosa Junior College, CA.
Certified Office and Property Manager, Santa Rosa, CA.
CPR and First-Aid Certified - Infant, Child and Adult

Personal: I have been married since 2011, and I have an amazing 7 year old son who attends CCLS. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home Mom for the first 5 years of my son's life, where we lived in Canada. When we moved back to California, and I became a full time Care-giver for my Mother, while volunteering at CCLS. Other than becoming a Mother, there was no greater joy than being able to take care of my Mom, who was a large part of Cross and Crown Church for many years. In my spare time, I  love to spend time with my family, creating new meals, working on crafts and wood burning projects, coloring and painting. I also like to travel and experience new places.

Reflection: With all of my experiences throughout the years, I came to realize that no matter what we experience, positive or negative, we are where we are supposed to be in life. Everything that we do leads up to today. Growing up in Rohnert Park, I was very involved with Cross and Crown Lutheran Church. I went on many mission trips with the youth group and reflect on my time with great pride in knowing that the experiences I had as a teenager; building houses for the homeless, visiting senior centers, travelling to other countries helping where I was needed; all led me back to CCLS where I could help the school in moving forward with their goals.
