Experience: I owned and operated a home childcare center for many years. I continue to take classes, attend conferences, and seminars. At every event, I learn new ideas that bring new classroom experiences for the children and me.
Personal Information: I am married to Brian, and we have two grown children, Kelsey and Jack, as well as a dog, named Molly. In 2019, we added to our family with my daughter getting a puppy named Scout, and my son and daughter-in-law having our first grandchild named Lauren. In my spare time, I plan on creating wonderful memories with my family. Hopefully, I will still find some quiet time and time to read.
Reflection: As a teacher I believe that each child who enters my classroom is an individual. It is my job to create an environment that will help that child expand his/her world. Assessing the individual and global needs of the children in the classroom takes me to the next step--developing an environment. As I reflect on teaching and my professional growth, I am drawn to the personal side of my life. I need to take time to read a book, or just sit outside in nature in order to recharge my batteries. My philosophy is to reset the personal side of my life so that I can be the best I can be in my teaching environment and in my professional growth.

Education: Third-year Early Childhood Education Major at Sonoma State University
Certification: CPR and First - Aid Certified - Infant, Child & Adult
Experience: Three years working as an Assistant Teacher for the Santa Monica Toddler Art Program, CA. Four years experience as a Summer Vacation Bible School Leader at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica, CA.
Personal Information: I was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, and moved to Rohnert Park permanently to attend school at Sonoma State. Growing up in Santa Monica, I was extremely involved with my church, First Presbyterian Church of SantaMonica, and volunteered my time as a Sunday School teacher and a Vacation Bible School Leader. Other than being a full-time student at Sonoma State and working at CCLS, I enjoy spending my free time with close friends, cooking - I’m a big reader and
love to learn new recipes to make for my roommates! And, weather permitting, I love to take day trips to the Russian River for some swimming and sun!
Reflection: I’ve had a passion for working with young children for as long as I can remember. My mother worked as a preschool director for 27 years, and growing up I watched her interact with children and their families. Her ability to connect and guide kids through her teaching has inspired me to follow the same path through Early Childhood Education. I am fairly new to CCLS, yet I already feel as though this community is like family.
